Esta semana nos tomaremos un tiempo para disfrutar de la lectura de una historia sobre desastres naturales: huracanes: “The hurricane and the coconut tree” (“El huracán y el cocotero”), seguiremos trabajando con el vocabulario de comidas y aprenderemos a usar el THERE IS/THERE ARE con sustantivos contables e incontables
HERE WE GO!!! (¡¡¡AQUÍ VAMOS!!!)
1- Watch the video, listen and read the story: “The hurricane and the coconut tree”. (Mirá el video, escuchá y lee la historia “El huracán y el cocotero”.) ENVIAR POR FORMULARIO DE CONTACTO LAS RESPUESTAS/ORACIONES.
Have you ever experienced/heard about a hurricane? Write in your folder

Read and write T (True) or F (False). Correct the FALSE sentences (Leé y escribí T (Verdadero) o F (Falso). Corregí las oraciones que son FALSAS)
-Zach and his mum live in Jamaica F- Zach and his mum are on holiday in Jamaica
-People hear about the hurricane on the radio
-Alice and Jake see a girl in a car under the coconut tree.
-The girl in the story is Zach´s sister.
-Zach´s mum saved Alice and Jake’s life.
Countable and uncountable nouns
(Sustantivos contables e incontables)
Ya aprendimos que THERE IS / THERE ARE significan “HAY” en español y lo utilizamos para describir la existencia de algo, en este caso, comidas. Esta semana vamos a diferenciar el uso de una y otra expresión con SUSTANTIVOS CONTABLES e INCONTABLES…también se los explico en el video de la clase.
USAMOS:
✔THERE IS/ARE (NOT)+ SUSTANTIVOS CONTABLES (COMIDAS QUE PODEMOS CONTAR POR UNIDAD) Por ejemplo: THERE IS an apple in my fridge (HAY 1 manzana en mi heladera) o THERE ARE 3 apples in my fridge (HAY 3 manzanas en mi heladera)
✔Pero con los SUSTANTIVOS INCONTABLES (COMIDAS QUE NO PODEMOS CONTAR POR UNIDAD, AUNQUE SÍ POR EL ENVASE COMO LOS LÍQUIDOS, CREMAS, CEREALES, COSAS EN POLVO…) solo podemos usar THERE IS (NOT), por ejemplo: THERE IS water in the fridge (HAY agua en la heladera) o THERE ISN’T flour/rice (NO HAY harina/arroz)
A continuación te presento un cuadro que resume la explicación previa. La próxima clase aprenderemos a usar SOME y ANY aunque yá se los adjunto a la estructura que estamos viendo para que se vayan acostumbrando a esas palabras, ¿les parece? 😉👍
